The Sanskrit word of Vaastu means dwelling or house with corresponding plot of land. If you split this word “VAS” means dwell, stay, live and “SHASTRA” means a Science or Teachings. Now this world is comprises of Five basic elements-Water, Fire, Earth, Air, Space further called PanchaMahaBhuta. A) Water (Jal ) – Our body is made of Water, it forms part of every plant and animal. This is represented by rain, river, sea and is in the form of liquid, ice. C) Earth ( Bhumi )– It’s Magnetic field and gravitational force has considerable effects on everything Living and Non Living.Earth element represents the South West direction of plot, construction. If this is constructed appropriately it provides Stability to Head of the Family.

D) Air ( Vayu ) – As a Life supporting element, air is a very powerful life source.Air represents the North West direction Lord Vayu dev governs this direction.If this is placed appropriately it provides good relationship among the Siblings, family members, friends.

E) Space (Akasha)- This is considered as the primary conductor of all energy sources within the universal context. It is the center of any plot, construction commonly knows as Brahmasthana. Lord Brahma rules this place. Any objectionable construction done on this area brings disaster to members residing.
